A COUNTY Limerick woman, who drowned in a freak accident while on holiday in Vietnam, has been named as Stephanie Hartnett

Ms Hartnett, who was originally from Adare, died after she was swept out to sea by a freak wave at the weekend.

It’s reported that onlookers made attempts to save her but she was pronounced dead shortly after she was brought ashore.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is now assisting in the repatriation of her body.

It is understood Ms Hartnett, was aged in her 60s, had been living in Mallow, North Cork for several years.
