Gardai investigating ongoing criminal activity in East Limerick have arrested four men
GARDAI are appealing for information following a serious incident at Feoghanagh outside Newcastle West during which a pensioner was seriously injured.

GARDAI are appealing for information following a serious incident at Feoghanagh outside Newcastle West during which a pensioner was seriously injured.

The incident happened at Ahawilk, Feoghanagh at around 2.15pm on Saturday.

“During the incident the owner of a property confronted two men who were attempting to steal wood chippings from his yard. As he did so the culprits drove directly at the victim who was knocked to the ground,” said Sergeant Justin McCarthy.

The culprits then drove their car and trailer over the victim causing him serious injury to his head and shoulders.

The injured man, who is aged 68, was removed by helicopter to Hospital. While serious his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

The car used by this gang is described as a 04 silver coloured car towing a trailer.

Ahawilk is located about half way on the main Newcastle West/Dromcollogher Road.
