THREE Travellers from West Limerick have brought a discrimination case against a pub in Askeaton.

THREE Travellers from West Limerick have brought a discrimination case against a pub in Askeaton.

Priscilla Harty and Thomas Harty, both of 5 Deelside, Askeaton and Marie Harty, of 12 St Mary’s Terrace, Askeaton allege that they were wrongfully discriminated against at the Top of the Town bar, Bouliglass, Askeaton on August 25.

Their case under section 19 of the Intoxicating Liquor Act (2003), which was brought before Newcastle West court last week, is to receive a full hearing on 
December 3.

If a ruling is brought against the public house, its proprietor can be ordered to pay compensation of up to €6,348 and may also face a temporary closure order.
