GARDAI at Henry Street are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a 21 year old man in the city.
Gardai were called to a flat in Steamboat Quay in the early hours of Saturday morning when the man, who was from Limerick, became unresponsive.
The 21 year old was removed by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick shortly after 6am this morning after being found in a critical condition. The man subsequently died some hours later.
It is believed that drugs may have been a factor but Gardai are awaiting results of a post mortem and toxicology tests.
Gardai spoke to a number of people at the scene.
