County Limerick gardai treating death as ‘tragic accident’

A TEENAGER has lost his life in a farming accident in County Limerick this morning.

A TEENAGER has lost his life in a farming accident in County Limerick this morning.

Gardai were called to a farm near Bruree at approximately 11.45am.

It is understood the 17-year-old was fatally injured in the workplace accident involving a tractor and trailer while cutting trees.

Bruff Superintendent Alan Cunningham said it appears to be a tragic accident.

“The scene is preserved. The Health and Safety Authority have been notified,” said Supt Cunningham.

The young man’s body is to be removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post mortem.
