GARDAI are examining CCTV footage after daring thieves armed with hi-tech walkie talkies and night vision goggles broke into Limerick Greyhound Stadium on the Dock Road.

GARDAI are examining CCTV footage after daring thieves armed with hi-tech walkie talkies and night vision goggles broke into Limerick Greyhound Stadium on the Dock Road.

The culprits used a ladder to climb up to the first floor of the premises at around 8.30pm on Sunday.

They smashed a window to gain acess and once inside they proceeded to ransack two offices.

“It appears that these thieves were well prepared as CCTV shows that both were wearing gloves, they had walkie-talkies and also a set of night vision glasses,” said a garda spokesman.

According to gardai, one of the intruders was wearing a Munster rugby tracksuit pants, a light grey zip up top over a blue hoodie.

The second man was wearing a navy blue hoodie, jeans and white runners.

Both were described as being of medium to strong builds.

Nothing was taken during the break-in, which is being investigated by gardaí at Roxboro Garda Station.
