Det Insp Jim Ryan (Henry Street), Insp Derek Smart (Roxboro) and Det Insp Tom O’Connor (Roxboro) will each take up their new roles in the coming months.

At this stage, it is not known if any of them will be remain within the Limerick division when they are formally promoted.

However, there is currently a vacancy in the Bruff garda district following the departure of Supt Tom Lundon in September.

And, Supt John Scanlan, who is currently based at Roxboro Garda Station, is to be promoted to the rank of Chief Superintedent which will, in turn, create a vacancy within that garda district.
