A MAN has been arrested in connection with the discovery of two firearms in county Limerick this Thursday.

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the discovery of two firearms in county Limerick this Thursday.

The discovery was made in an occupied house in Croom as part of a planned operation this Thursday morning.

“A man who is from county Limerick and aged in his 30s has been arrested and is being detained under the Offences Against the State Act,” said Superintendent Tom O’Connor of Newcastle West garda station.

It is understood that a rifle and a shotgun were recovered as part of the planned operation into the unlawful possession of firearms.
