A DOORADOYLE man was granted bail after he was charged was assaulting his housemate at the weekend.

A DOORADOYLE man was granted bail after he was charged was assaulting his housemate at the weekend.

Shane Maher, aged 43, of Gouldavoher, Fr Russell Road is accused of stabbing Kevin Hynes causing him harm at his home at around 11.30pm on Sunday.

The injured party, who has been advised by gardai to move out of the house, was hospitalised following the incident although his injuries are not life threateneing.

At Limerick Court yesterday afternoon, Garda Martin Crowley said he arrested the defendant shortly after the incident and that he made no reply when he was charged.

Maher was granted bail by Judge Eugene O’Kelly subject to a number of conditions.

He must live at his own address, obey a nightly curfew and he was ordered not have any contact with the alleged injured party.

The case was adjourned until September 16, next for DPP’s directions.
