A GARDA investigation is underway after a man was fatally stabbed in Limerick city overnight,
The man’s body was found on the steps of a house at Linehan Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston shortly after 12.30am. It is believed he had suffered multible stab wounds.
The house and surrounding area were sealed off overnight and members of the Garda Technical Bureau are expected at the scene later this morning.
The State Pathologist’s Office has also been informed and a post mortem examination will be carried out later.
The victim, who was aged 43, was known to gardaí and had lived nearby.
House to house inquiries will be conducted in the area this morning and an incident room has been set up at Roxboro Garda Station.
