THE Chief Executive of the Limerick Regeneration Agencies has welcomed the signing of contracts for the construction of a multi-million euro housing project in Moyross.

Brendan Kenny said the signing of the contract with Clancy Construction, in the presence of Minister of State, Willie Penrose, TD, for the 33-unit development at Cliona Park is a pivotal moment for the regeneration areas.

“We have had our stumbling blocks and delays but in the fullness of time the signing of these contracts today will be seen as a key moment for Limerick Regeneration,” said Mr Kenny.

“Cliona Park is just the first of 26 projects, many of them new build housing developments or housing refurbishments, costing a total of €337m that will be delivered under the Limerick Regeneration Agencies over the next four and a half years,” he added.

The €5.5m Cliona Park project will involve the development of a mix of 33 units in all, comprising 13 houses (mix of two and three bedrooms) and a courtyard sheltered development for the elderly of 20 one and two bedroom apartments.
