ESB crews are working to repair a fault in Limerick city
ESB Networks says it hopes to have power fully restored early this afternoon following a major outage on the south side of Limerick city this morning.

ESB Networks says it hopes to have power fully restored early this afternoon following a major outage on the south side of Limerick city this morning.

Several thousand customers in the Roxboro, Southill and Galvone areas were affected by the outage which happened shortly before 8am.

Power was restored to the majority of the affected customers before 10am and an ESB Networks spokesperson said works are continuing to repair a fault, which was discovered at a sub-station at the Kilmallock Road.

The spokesperson added that a small number of rural customers are still without power.
