Oola claim Limerick intermediate football title
Goals from Richie English and Pakie Bourke helped Oola to a 2-11 to 0-14 win over Claughaun in the Limerick IFC final in Caherconlish on Saturday.
But county U-21 hurling star Richie English fisted to the net to give Oola the initiative and they drove that advantage home when Bourke fired a brilliant shot to the net shortly after. Oola led 2-7 to 0-7 at the break.
Claughaun fought back well in the second half but they could never get any closer than three points and Oola did enough to hold on.
SCORERS - Oola: Pakie Bourke 1-2, Richie English 1-1, Ian Bourke 0-3, Josh Ryan 0-3 (two frees, one ‘45), Conor Ryan and Keith Bourke 0-1 each. Claughaun: Evan Shine 0-6 (four frees, one ‘45), Tadgh Bennett 0-3 (one free), Jamie McGarry, Padraic O’Reilly, Cian Byrnes, Shane Mullally and Adrian Healy 0-1 each.
