I notice that Paul O’Connell was married recently in the south of France. While I appreciate this was a personal decision for the couple, I was disappointed that they chose to get married abroad.

I notice that Paul O’Connell was married recently in the south of France. While I appreciate this was a personal decision for the couple, I was disappointed that they chose to get married abroad.

Paul is a board member of the body set up to promote Limerick City of Culture in 2014. He has even gone on record urging the public to ‘rally behind the project’. It is unfortunate that in a time, when local hotels are striving for survival and in need of all the revenue they can get, Paul O’Connell did not choose the option of supporting local business and setting example to others.

I am sure that as an ambassador for the city, a role model and sportsman he is aware his decision will probably lead to others following his example.
