May 25 - We bus passengers deserve better
I SEE bus drivers got what they want after taking industrial action because they have union reps - a mouthpiece to speak for them.
AS bus passengers, we were again left without a service. The farmers were helped out, but we ordinary people who rely on public transport have no voice. Who was arguing our case after we were left without a means to travel?
I believe the government or the bus company should now pay compensation for the inconvenience caused.
There are revenue offices and officials in all city centres. They should call down to the bus stations and hand out claim forms to us.
I also think that where the local authority provides on-street parking for cars, they should also provide adequate bus shelters for passengers. The cost of maintenance to these shelters should be shared by public and private bus companies.
