Woman rescued from Limerick house fire

A woman had to be rescued from her home in Prospect last night after a fire broke out at the premises

The alarm was raised at 10.53pm and three units of the Limerick City Fire and Rescue service were immediately dispatched to the house, which is located at Hyde Avenue.

When fire personnel arrived, they entered the house and brought the woman to safety. She was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital afterwards as a precaution.

Fire personnel remained at the scene until shortly after midnight when the fire was extinguished.

The scene of the blaze was preserved overnight and technical examinations will be conducted later this morning.
