Ninety-one-year-old man remanded on continuing bail

THE COURT case against a 91-year-old County Limerick man has been adjourned until April 19.

Niall O’Mahony, of Ardkilmartin, Kilmallock is charged with assault; obstructing a member of the gardai and being physically abusive to garda and staff in Maria Goretti Nursing Home.

Mr O’Mahony’s solicitor, Robin Lee indicated at the first court sitting on February 15 that his client would be pleading guilty. The case was adjourned until Friday, March 15. Mr Mahony was in court last Friday for the brief court hearing. Inspector Paul Reidy said the state have sought clarification from the DPP and are awaiting final directions. Judge Mary Larkin remanded Mr O’Mahony on continuing bail until Friday, April 19.
