A CORBALLY man is to face trial before a judge and jury in connection with the alleged seizure of more than €1.5 million worth of cannabis at a house on the outskirts of Limerick earlier this year.

Shane Ferguson, 44, of Meadowbrook, Mill Road, is charged with possession of the drugs for sale or supply at Annagh, Lisnagry, on May 24 last.

Inspector Seamus Ruane. Roxboro Garda Station, told Judge Eugene O’Kelly at Limerick District Court that the DPP had consented to have the accused man tried on indictment at Limerick Circuit Court.

Sarah Ryan, solicitor, said Mr Ferguson had been granted bail in the High Court on June 11 but had not yet taken it up.

Mr Ferguson was remanded in custody with consent to High Court bail to appear before the court again on August 22.
