Man arrested over murder of Limerick bouncer
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Brian Fitzgerald in November 2002
GARDAi investigating the murder of nightclub bouncer Brian Fitzgerald more than a decade ago have arrested a man as part of their inquries.
Mr Fitzgerald, a 34-year-old father-of two, was gunned down outside his home at Brookhaven Walk, Mill Road, Corbally in the early hours of November 29, 2002.
Three men have been previously convicted in relation to the killing, which shocked the nation.
This morning, gardai attached to Henry Street station arrested a man in the Ballinacurra Weston area of the city as part of their investigation.
The man, who is aged in his mid-30s, is being detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be held without charge for a maximum of 72 hours without charge..
