Man arrested in Limerick over dissident activity

A MAN has been arrested by gardai investigating the activities of dissident republicans in Limerick.
The man, whose aged in his 40’s, was arrested following a search at a house in the city this morning.
He is being detained at Henry Street garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
It is not known if the arrest in linked to the recent Republican Sinn Fein Sean South Commemoration during which threats were made against Irish people who are serving in the British army.
In a statement, purporting to be from CIRA prisoners at Portlaoise, threats were made stating that any Irish person who joins the British Army is a “legitimate target” for the organisation.
