Limerick teenager ordered to ‘stay away’ from village

A YOUNG Limerick city man has been ordered to stay away from Caherconlish at Limerick Court.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was before the court charged with a number of offences in the village over the weekend.
Detective Garda Paul Crowley said he arrested and charged the teenager at Roxboro garda station.
“He made no reply to the charges,” said Detective Garda Crowley.
The youth is charged with theft of keys of a vehicle; allowing yourself to be carried in a vehicle without consent of the owner and stealing €80 at Boskill Equestrian Centre, Caherconlish.
On the same date of Saturday, March 9, the male is charged with getting into a stationary vehicle at Cois Rioga housing estate in Caherconlish. In the same estate, he is alleged to have entered one of the homes as a trespasser and “did attempt to commit an arrestable offence to wit theft”.
At Hundred Acres East, the teen is also charged with entering a building as a trespasser and attempting to commit an arrestable offence to wit theft”. All the alleged offences occurred on Saturday, March 9.
Detective Garda Crawley said there was no state objection to bail subject to conditions.
The accused must sign on daily at Roxboro garda station between 9am and 8pm; he must reside at an address in Limerick city; obey a curfew between 10pm and 8am; abstain from drugs and alcohol; have no contact with witnesses and stay away from Caherconlish.
Judge Eugene O’Kelly granted bail.
Sergeant Donal Cronin said they were seeking DPP’s directions and asked for an adjournment until June 11.
