TWO brothers from Limerick city are being questioned by gardai following the seizure of suspected rocket-launchers and other explosives in County Tipperary.

The two brothers were arrested along with another man, who is also from Limerick, late last night as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident Republican activity.

All three, who are aged in their 30s, were arrested on the N24 near Cahir during an operation involving members of the Special Detective Unit, other National Units and local gardai.

It is understood gardai from the Limerick division played a role in the operation.

A number of explosive devices were seized at the scene along with two cars - technical and ballistic examinations are ongoing,

The men are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Clonmel and Cahir Garda Stations.
