Two Limerick men have pleaded guilty on the first morning of their trial to having sex with a minor.

The men, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were remanded on bail to face sentence at a later date.

The men pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin to engaging in sex with a child under the age of 17 in Limerick on August 23, 2009.

Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy remanded the pair on continuing bail until next Monday when a date will be fixed for sentence.

A victim impact report for the girl will also be prepared.
