Limerick gardai seek bicycle thief
ROXBORO GARDA STATION GARDA SIGN
GARDAI are appealing for information about a cyclist who snatched a mobile phone from a young woman as she was walking near the city centre.
“The woman was walking up Upper Careys Road when a male youth came up from behind and snatched her mobile phone out of her hand and cycled away,” said a garda spokesperson.
Although shocked, the woman was not physically injured during the incident.
Gardai from Roxboro garda station are examining CCTV from the area and they are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact them at (061) 214340.
Gardai are also advising people to be aware of their surroundings when out and about.
“I would like to advise people to be aware of their surroundings when out and about. If they feel unsafe while out walking they should turn back or cross the street rather than continuing to walk into an area that they feel might be unsafe,” said Garda Diane McCaule of Henry Street garda station.
