KILMALLOCK GOLF SOCIETY: Second Outing 2013 - Kilmallock golf society made the trip to Ballykisteen last Saturday April 13 for our second outing of the year. Ballykisteen was in superb condition with excellent fairways and super fast greens it provided a great test of the golfing skills of the 41 members who took part in the outing. Given the weather conditions and the fact that the course was playing though the pundits had predicted that a score of 40 points would be very hard to beat. James Connery was in the very first group to return to the club house and posting a score of 41 points he had a long nervous wait to see if it was good enough for the win. And so it proved to be with only James Finn coming close to challenge but alas for James Finn a minus one proved very costly. James Connery had a near flawless round but the highlight had to be the birdie’s he made on the 16th and 17th holes which really put a gloss on the card, the putter must have been on fire. Special mention must also be made of Anthony Fitzgerald who scored an impressive 40 points and finished third. At Ballykisteen the society also welcomed back “new members” John Brazill and Altus Meyer. The presentation of prizes took place that evening at Fitzgerald’s bar in Kilmallock there was a good turn out and a big thank you must go to Mike and his staff who looked after us so well. FULL RESULTS – 1. James Connery 41 points, 2 James Finn 41-1 points, 3 Anthony Fitzgerald 40 points, 4 Ger Finn 39-1 points, 5 JJ Mulcahy 37 points, 6 Nick Hayes 37 points. Front nine Dan Lordan and Back nine Kieran Donegan. COMPETITIONS
