Walking on Cars: Returning to Limerick in 2018

TOP Irish band Walking on Cars are to return to Limerick for a big show at King John’s Castle – making it a hat-trick of recently announced shows for the venue in 2018.

Dingle natives Walking on Cars will play Live at King John’s Castle on Friday, July 20, with tickets going on sale this Friday at 9am.

Bookers Dolan’s, who are presenting the show in association with Shannon Heritage, who manage the venue, have now announced three shows for 2018 at the Castle, with hometown heroes Hermitage Green and Bell X1, who are celebrating 20 years together, are already lined up for shows at King John’s.

Neil Dolan of Dolan’s Warehouse said they were “delighted to welcome Walking On Cars Back to Limerick” and said the Dingle group – who sold out the Milk Market on a previous occasion – have “heard great things about King Johns Castle and cant wait for July 20”.

Niall O’Callaghan, Managing Director, Shannon Heritage said: “We are delighted to once again be partnering with Dolan’s in 2018 for our third year of the ‘Live At King John’s Castle’ concert series.

“Securing Walking on Cars to perform at the castle will draw people from all over Ireland to Limerick which will be good for the city’s economy and good for music fans. Having been awarded the prestigious European Border Breakers Award following in the footsteps of previous winners including Mumford and Sons, Adele, Kodaline and Dolores  O’Riordan, we know that this hugely popular band will be a major attraction,” he added.

It has been nearly two years since Walking On Cars released their double platinum selling album ‘Everything This Way’ – yet they still boast over half a million listeners on Spotify every month.

The band have been working on the follow up and are now ready to start introducing these new songs to the world, they say.
