A SUSPECTED drink driver was arrested by Limerick gardai after allegedly ‘cutting’ in front of a patrol car while holding a mobile phone.

According to a post on the official @gardatraffic Twitter account a number of empty alcohol bottles and cans were found in the vehicle which was not taxed or insured.

Photographs taken by gardai suggest the insurance expired in August while the Tax expired in April.

“Roxboro Rd Gardaí arrest drunk driver. Cut in front of patrol car while holding mobile phone. Empty drink bottles in car. No tax or insur” read the message which was posted on social media this lunchtime.

The exact location of the offence, which happened over the weekend, has not been disclosed.
