Overcrowding at UHL reaches new heights

OVERCROWDING at University Hospital Limerick’s emergency department has reached a new high on Friday morning. 

According to figures published by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, there were 55 patients being treated on A&E trolleys and on additional trolleys or beds in the wards. 

In total, there have been 208 patients treated on trolleys at UHL this week. Last week, there were 210 patients on trolleys.
