West Limerick man collects €131,705 Lotto prize

A MAN from West Limerick has won a €131,705 National Lottery prize.

The family man, who wishes to remain private, bought his lucky Quick Pick ticket in Applegreen, Stag Retail Park, Dromin Upper, Listowel.

He won the prize when he matched five numbers and the bonus in the Lotto draw on Saturday 30 July and collected the prize in Dublin this Tuesday.

“I’d three tickets in my wallet and just got around to checking them on the ticket checker the other day. I was surprised when I got the message to contact National Lottery,” explained the West Limerick man.

When asked how he planned to spend the winnings he joked: “It will keep me out of trouble! I’ll put it into the house.”

The Limerick man was hot on the heels of the 3rd Infantry Battalion syndicate from Kilkenny, a group of 20 soldiers who won €452,700 when they matched five numbers and the bonus in Lotto.
