HUNDREDS of euro was raised at an Enable Ireland fundraiser recently for a proposed new facility in Castleconnell.

The new premises will join the two existing branches of the organisation in Mungret and the Dock Road.

The busking event attracted spectators in the city last Friday, with a variety of musical performers filling the streets with music.

Singer Rachel Prior, better known by her stage name Rachy P, had the idea for the fundraiser after seeing the positive work being done by the organisation in Limerick.

Mikey O’Doherty said that the services provided by Enable Ireland in Limerick have vastly improved his quality of life.

“I’m in Mary I, I’m getting ready to get my degree, I’m living on my own, and I’m very independent, all thanks to Enable Ireland,” he said.
