Gardai investigating as pensioner is robbed in her Limerick home

GARDAÍ are hunting a three-man gang who robbed a pensioner in her County Limerick home on Tuesday night.

The gang who are understood to have been masked, entered the elderly woman’s house in a rural area near Galbally late on Tuesday night.

“It was reported at about 11pm - it happened between 9pm and 10.15pm,” said a spokesperson for Bruff garda station who are investigating the incident.

It is understood that no weapons were used during the incident and the woman, who is aged in her 70s, was not physically harmed.

“She is shook. They didn’t harm her,” said the garda spokeswoman.

There have been no arrests to date.

Gardaí have sent out a text alert to surrounding communities warning them of the incident and to be vigilant of any suspicious activity.

It is understood the gang made off with a quantity of cash.
