Car fire causes ‘major traffic jam’ on Limerick motorway

The incident occured at approximately 4.20pm this Monday

A CAR FIRE on the M7 motorway is causing lengthy traffic delays in Limerick.

The incident occurred between Junction 29 and 30 and was reported at approximately 4.20pm this Monday evening.

An eyewitness reported long tailbacks on the motorway. The eyewitness also reported that a “truck full of cattle” were getting restless on the section of the motorway due to the long delays.

There was only one vehicle involved in the incident and there are currently no reports of injuries.

Units from Limerick Fire and Rescue and An Garda Síochána attended the scene.

Limerick Fire and Rescue have since returned from the incident which is now “under control”.
