The 'Love Limerick Don't Litter' calendar

A SUPER new calendar produced by Limerick City Council and celebrating the city is to be given away free with this weekend’s Limerick Leader newspaper.

The ‘Love Limerick Don’t Litter’ 2012 calendar features a host of full colour community pictures taken by Limerick Leader photographers and will be a marvellous addition to every home.

The calendar aims to celebrate all that is good about Limerick and features a strong message from Mayor Cllr Jim Long, who writes: “2012 is the European Year for Active Aging and the calendar is full of useful dates (many linking to the environment) which will give you plenty of opportunities to be out and about in 2012, whatever your age”.

Featured in the calendar are many images from the National Tidy Towns Competition and the Limerick City Community Challenge, which was driven by the JP McManus Charitable Foundation and was keenly supported by the Limerick Leader and Live 95FM.

“Get involved in your local community,” writes the mayor. “Volunteer for clean-ups, put your litter in a bin, do your bit for you environment and together we will step into a brighter, cleaner and more beautiful Limerick city in 2012.”

See this weekend’s Limerick Leader for your free ‘Love Limerick Don’t Litter’ 2012 calendar.

'Love Limerick, Don't Murder' might be a better theme...talk about rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic...
