ACTOR Liam Neeson has had to send his regrets, but he has still come up trumps for a big fundraising event in aid of UNICEF Ireland in Limerick on Friday next, September 14 in the Savoy Hotel.

“Liam sends his regrets he is unable to attend on the evening as he will be busy promoting TAKEN 2 in South Korea.

However, he is always so supportive of the Aer Lingus/UNICEF ‘Change for Good’ partnership as an Irish Goodwill UNICEF Ambassador and he has kindly donated a signed Blu Ray Special Edition double dvd of TAKEN,” revealed Liz Mangan, organiser of the fundraising event.

Starting with a champagne reception from 6.15pm, guests will enjoy a sumptuous five course meal with beautiful wine and be in with a chance to win fantastic raffle prizes.

Tickets are €95 and tables of 10 are €950. MC for the evening is the lovely newlywed Limerick’s Emma O’Driscoll from RTE.

On show will be the latest international designer collections from Brown Thomas Limerick as well as the opportunity to ‘Shop the Show’ afterwards.

Guests can treat themselves to the latest must-have pieces at this once off pop-up shop before they dance the rest of the night away!

“We have an amazing opportunity for our guests to bid on also two Business Class return transatlantic flights from Shannon kindly donated by Aer Lingus for someone who wants to treat themselves and a travel companion to a wonderful travel experience with Aer Lingus,“ explains Liz.

Another coveted auction item is a signed Munster jersey

Good news for those who can’t attend is that the organisers are pre-selling raffle tickets for €5 each with a fantastic top prize of an all inclusive trip to America.

This will include two Aer Lingus Transatlantic return flights with two nights’ deluxe accommodation in Fitzpatrick’s Grand Central Hotel New York, and $500 spending money.

Other fabulous prizes include a piece of jewellery from Haniken’s New York, champagne lunch for four in The Cornstore Limerick, two Aer Lingus Regional flights operated by Aer Arann from Shannon.
