A NEW Limerick Walking Trails brochure launched by Irish Olympic hopeful, Colin Griffin, promotes over 12 walks in Limerick county and city.
Launching the brochure, race walker Colin, who previously represented Ireland in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, said: “As a competitor in this year’s 50km walk in the 2012 London Olympics, I am delighted to launch the new Limerick Walking Trails brochure recently published by Shannon Development.
“As a European City of Sport, Limerick has a great sporting tradition and the new publication will be a major asset for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you live locally or you are a visitor to Limerick there are some really nice trails in this brochure,” he added.
Limerick Walking Trails featured include: The Limerick City Three Bridges Riverside Loop; Medieval Limerick; Glenstal Woods Loop; Magical Lough Gur; Foynes Shannon Estuary Walk; Adare Village and Riverbank Walk; Great Southern Trail; Glin Castle Demesne Heritage Trails; Clare Glens Loop Walks; Curraghchase Forest Park; and a number of walks in the Ballyhoura area.

The brochures contain an abundance of information including detailed maps for lots of great trails, directions to the various trailheads; distance and duration of walks; and level of difficulty (easy to moderate to difficult).
