DANCE Limerick is hosting a workshop with international performance artist Colin Gee this Sunday.
The innovative workshop will offer an overview of how to create and develop original performance work, with a focus on the creation of character.
Suitable for professional performers and students at an advanced stage of training, places on this exciting masterclass are limited so advance booking is advised.
“We’re really excited to have someone of Colin’s calibre coming,” said Jenny Traynor, director of the dance resource organisation, based in St John’s Church. “He has such extensive performance experience in so many genres, this is a fantastic opportunity for performers to learn and to get advice in relation to their own work.
“When you glance at Colin’s CV and see renowned venues and organisations such as Cirque du Soleil, the Jacques Lecoq School, you realise the level he is at – we’re really lucky that he’s coming to Limerick.”
Colin Gee will present the workshop as part of his residency at Dance Limerick with choreographer and performer Angie Smalis. Colin and Angie are developing a new work entitled ‘Chaplet of Roses’, which will be performed on December 18 at 8pm.
