GARDAI are investigating a double car theft from outside a house in Limerick, the owners of which are due to have a family wedding later this week.

Two cars were stolen early this Sunday morning from outside a house in Avonmore Road, Raheen.

The owner of one of the cars is due to get married later this week and the family have issued an appeal for public assistance in tracing the cars’ whereabouts.

Gardai in Limerick are investigating the incident in which two cars - a black Passat with registration 141-L-2794 and a silver Audi A3 05-LK-5152 - were taken between 3am and 7am this Sunday morning from outside the house, while the family were sleeping inside.

The front door of the house was forced and the cars taken. Gardai from Roxboro and the scenes of crime unit from Henry Street were called to the house and are investigating the matter.

A family friend said it was “very upsetting” for the victims of the theft, particularly with the wedding to take place this Thursday. The family has appealed for anyone with information to contact gardai at Roxboro on 061-214340.
