The crash occurred between a truck and a car less than a mile away from the family home in Cooga. Shane was the sole occupant of the car.

A moving tribute from Tom Hehir was posted on the Leader’s Facebook site.

“A sad goodbye to my friend and colleague who was so was so full of life and who shared my love of greyhounds. You made the nights working together short with your chat. RIP buddy.”
