Thomas O’Sullivan, of St Mary’s Terrace, Carrigkerry, died following a two-vehicle collision between Athea and Carrigkerry shortly after 7am.

Mr O’Sullivan, who is well known in the local area and worked at Rathfredagh Cheshire Home near Newcastle West, is survived by his wife Nellie, four sons, two daughters and a large extended family.

He is to be laid to rest at Holy Cross cemetery in Athea following his funeral Mass in Carrigkerry at 11.30am this Monday morning.

The 33-year-old driver of the other vehicle involved in Friday’s crash on the R523 received treatment at University Hospital Limerick, but his injuries were not serious.
