GARDAI are appealing for information about an incident of criminal damage at a church in the city.

Significant damage was caused to Our Lady Of Lourdes Church on Childers Road late on Wednesday night last, May 29, sometime between 9pm and 1am the following morning.

According to investigating gardai, two ‘macralon panels’ and two leaded glass windows were broken at the front of the church while two windows facing onto Beechgrove avenue were also broken by the culprits or culprits.

“This damage was of significant value and any information in relation to this incident would be of assistance,” said Garda Denise Haverty of the Community Policing unit at Henry Street garda station.
