A COUNTY Limerick man has died following a burglary at a house in Toomaline, Doon this afternoon.

A COUNTY Limerick man has died following a burglary at a house in Toomaline, Doon this afternoon.

It has been reported locally that the man had a heart attack when he returned home around 2pm and found a number of men inside his house.

It is understood that he is aged in his late fifties or early sixties and lived in a cottage just outside the village on the road to Cappawhite.

Two arrests have been made by gardai after a foot-chase through fields took place with the assistance of a local man. Gardai are currently carrying out a technical examination of the scene.

One local described the deceased man as “very quiet”.

“He was a single man and lived there in the cottage on his own. He was a gifted a DIY man. He was in Tipperary Town buying materials before he came home,” they said.
