A ONCE popular pub in the Dock Road looks set to get a new lease of life.
Clem Smith’s Bar, which lies on the corner of the Dock Road and St Alphonsus Street has been closed since late November after more than a decade of trading.
But it is understood negotiations have commenced to have the bar back in use well under a year since it closed its doors.
Clem Smith’s was owned by the former county hurler of the same name, and had traditionally attracted a crowd of GAA fanatics.
At the time of its closure, a message on its Facebook page stated: “We are now officially closed after nearly a decade down on the Dock Road.
“Thanks to all the customers that called and supported us over the years, to the people we met and made some good friends along the way.”
