THE annual Moyross community fair takes place this Saturday, with the organisers promising this year’s event will be “bigger than ever”.

The festivities get under way from noon in the Moyross Playing Fields.

Organised by the Moyross community centre, there will be food on the barbecue, as well as a cook-off over the grills.

School teachers from Corpus Christi School, the North Star drugs project, Moyross Community Cafe and the Friars will go head-to-head in a bid to become king of the cookout.

The proceeds from the sale of food and drink on the day go towards the Live95FM Stop Tour in Aid of the Children’s Ark, and children’s charity CARI.

Attractions for younger children include novelty sports, face painting, and a story time with Watch House Cross Library staff.

Other events include kick -boxing classes, a vintage car display, as well as an opportunity to have your blood pressure checked.

Market stalls will sell a number of goods, including angel cards, and beauty products.

Tracey McElligott, coordinator of the Moyross Community Centre, says it will prove to be “a wonderful fun filled day for all the family.”

“We are encouraging everyone to come along and to get involved in the activities on offer on the day,” she added.
