GVM AUCTIONEER, Tom Crosse, will have a busy time commencing on Wednesday, June 20 with four land auctions in three days.
Close to 200 acres will be up for sale in Adare, Charleville, Emly and Meanus on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Mr Crosse says it is a good time of year to be selling land.
“People that may have been considering it would have been waiting until the weather dries up and fields look greener.
“The days are longer and people can walk them in the evening time.
“Generally it is a good time of year to be offering land for sale,” said Mr Crosse, who says another advantage is for sellers to get land sold before the holiday season kicks in.
While all four farms going for auction are different, Mr Crosse says land in Limerick is making anything from €7k to €10k per acre.
“That depends on quality, road frontage, out buildings, is there a house, isn’t there a house.
“We certainly would be hoping all the lots advertised would come up to that level,” said Mr Crosse.
The first auction is of 60 acres at Kiltoohig, Charleville at Kilmallock Mart on Wednesday, June 20 at 3pm - unless previously sold.
The excellent quality land is located on the outskirts of Charleville and is adjoining the golf club.
This holding is laid out in easily managed divisions and is well watered and fenced.
“A quality farm in a superb location,” said Mr Crosse. There is also a three bedroom bungalow on the property, he adds.
On Thursday, June 21 at 3pm in Kilmallock Mart the auction takes place of 32 acres at Clashdrumsmith, Emly.
“It is a prime roadside holding extending to circa 32 acres located on the Emly / Cullen road. A holding pen, crush and shed is on the farm.
Directly after that auction on Thursday, a 50 acre holding situated in close proximity to Meanus village will be put up for sale at 4pm in the mart.
“This land is laid out in easily managed divisions and is well watered and fenced. Superb location just fifteen minutes drive from Limerick City,” said Mr Crosse.
Then on Friday, June 22 the public auction of 42 acres of rolling parkland located in close proximity to the village of Adare takes place in the Woodlands House Hotel at 3pm - unless previously sold.
The address is Ardshanbally, Adare and there is extensive frontage to cul-de-sac roadway and river Maigue with village views.
