If you are a singer, a dancer, a variety act, a magician, or any other form of entertainer, the organisers of the show - which takes place in August - would love to hear from you.

Between Monday, August 13 and Friday, August 17, Limerick’s Got Talent will take over Patrick Punch’s Hotel in Ballinacurra Gardens.

It is open to any non-professional entertainer aged eight and upwards as of last Friday.

This year, those lucky enough to win the contest will receive a cheque for €500, plus a trophy and a promotional video shoot.

Meanwhile, the runner-up will get €100, plus a trophy and possibly a video shoot.

Prizes will also be given for the best entertainment act of the week.

The show’s producer Mike O’Connor believes this year’s competition will be “bigger and better” than ever before.

Entry forms are available from Euro Empire, 114 O’Connell Street.

Closing date for entries is Wednesday, August 1 at 5pm.
