GARDAI have established an incident room following a shooting incident in Limerick city earlier this week.

GARDAI have established an incident room following a shooting incident in Limerick city earlier this week.

It is understood a single shot was fired at a car as it was travelling over Thomond Bridge at around 10.30pm on Tuesday.

The shooting is being linked to an ongoing dispute between a number of youths who are living on the northside of the city.

Nobody was injured in the incident and no arrests have been made to date.

A garda spokesman has confirmed that additional patrols have been rolled out in the Saint Mary’s Park and Thomondgate areas of the city in response to the shooting which was the second in the city since the beginning of the year.
