Moonlit Movies Ireland has announced that it will be erecting a purpose built 30 X 18 foot cinema screen, on which five film ‘classics’ will be shown between Friday, August 29 and Sunday, August 31.

The screen is positioned 12 feet off the ground to ensure optimum viewing and the sound is transmitted on a FM frequency which can be received by cars radios.

The screenings begin on Friday, August 29 with Grease at 10pm, followed by Jaws at midnight; the last show is Anchorman at 10pm on Sunday.

In between, there will be showings of Dirty Dancing at midnight on Saturday, August 30 and Back to the Future at 10pm on the same day.

“We have chosen movies to appeal to a wide audience,” explained event organiser Ray Nash, from county Limerick.

“There is something for individuals, couples, families and groups of friends to be enjoyed in the comfort of your own vehicle.”

An all round cinema experience is promised with a comprehensive food and beverage offering including popcorn, soft drinks, sweets and hot dogs.

Tickets cost €20 for a car and 4 people, €18 for a car and 2 people, children under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased on moonlitmoviesireland.com
