THE third instalment of the Royal Picture Show returns this weekend, with a wide variety of film screenings.

THE third instalment of the Royal Picture Show returns this weekend, with a wide variety of film screenings.

The focus for the latest min-festival - for of which are taking place this year for City of Culture - features a focus on classics, musicals, tributes to Madeline Carroll and Robin Williams, plus an Irish language programme for schools.

Also included on the programme are free events for Culture night, with screenings from 8pm-10pm in Chimes cafe at 69 O’Connell Street and a cinema memorabilia exhibition.

The festival starts on Thursday and runs until Sunday, and features a screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show in the former Belltable on Friday night at 11pm, a charity event in association with the Unity Gospel Choir.

Also screening are Wall-E, A Hard Day’s Night, This is Spinal Tap and Mrs Doubtfire.
