Crecora mansion up for sale for 1.5m

A PALATIAL residence in Crecora, county Limerick, has become the latest multi-million euro property locally to be put up for sale.

‘Somerton House’ in Crecora is now the market for €1.5m through Rooney Auctioneers in the city.

It features six bedrooms and five bathrooms, a private lake and can be sold with either six or 14 acres depending on the potential buyer’s budget.

The detached 6,000 sq ft residence on landscaped gardens boasts solid mahogany floors and kitchen units, pure filtered water in all taps, and a master bedroom with a walk-in dressing room and jacuzzi bath.

It is currently the most expensive property on the books of Rooney auctioneers and only came up for sale within the past week. The residence is one of nine properties in Limerick with a seven figure price-tag, with other multi-million euro properties located in Ardagh, Kilmeedy, Pallasgreen, Castleconnell, Pallaskenry, Raheen and the North Circular Road in the city.

A number of those have been on the market for several years and feature discounts in excess of €1m.

The most expensive property for sale locally at present is ‘Shamrockville’ on the North Circular Road in the city, the home of a hotelier, which is priced at €2.7m. It features five bedrooms and four bathrooms on a 1.3 acre site in the city’s “most sought after address”, while the property itself spans 4,600 sq ft.

Recently, a property for sale in the grounds of Adare Manor sold for well under €2m, after having a guide price of €12m four years ago. It is understood a couple from abroad scooped the cut-price deal for the eight-bedroom property bordering the famous golf club. While there is a decline of mega-mansions on the market, there are currently 36 properties across Limerick valued in excess of a more modest €750,000.
