LIMERICK’s Hazel Noonan is celebrating this week after taking home a large cheque from Winning Streak, while another lucky punter has become Limerick’s latest millionaire through the Prize Bonds draw.

Glin lady Hazel Noonan won a whopping €30,800, which included a holiday to France, on last Saturday’s National Lottery Winning Streak TV gameshow.

Ms Noonan was one of five lucky players to win big on the RTE show - the total value of which was worth over €200,000.

The Limerick winner received her prizes from hosts Geri Maye and Marty Whelan in front of a large television and studio audience.

Meanwhile, details have emerged of the latest person to become a millionaire in Limerick - with one lucky Prize Bond holder winning big through the state savings product.

A mystery winner scooped €1 million on Friday after the winning bond number - NW 375901 - was pulled from the top draw. The bond was purchased in 2010.

The €1 million prize is awarded on the last draw of every month and replaces the normal weekly top prize of €20,000. Other cash prizes awarded each week include five of €1,000, 10 of €250 and over 8,500 of €75.

John Daly, Prize Bond chairman, said: “Congratulations to our new Prize Bond Millionaire from Limerick and to over 8,500 other winners in today’s Prize Bond draw”.

Limerick has had a string of Lotto winners this year, with two wins in the National Lottery’s Daily Million game, and a happy couple from Newcastle West who won the €500,000 top prize in the EuroMillions Plus game.

Garryowen mum of ten Susan Bailey also won nearly €900,000 when her numbers came up in the EuroMillions draw in March.
